I picked this motor up at a yard sale with a bad water pump, so lets seal up the bottom and put a new pump on it.

There is an o-ring that needs to be on top of the driveshaft. Also, a bit of grease should be wiped on the splines. I see this video is 5 years old and someone probably already told you but I don't know. I love your videos tho! I watch them daily!!

Curious when doing all this was the water drain in exhaust chamber where water pump is verified/clear of obstructions? I’ve not seen where hole is exactly on inside beside shift Rod … found exit on outside

I have an old Evinrude big 35 and an old Johnson 10 hp, that look a tad bit older than yours, that I was going to fix up and put on an old vintage v-bottom boat. The boat is a 57 model, so I would like to put a motor on that is close to its age. Where did you find your year/model number on your motor? I cant find a plate on mine.
One thing for sure they don’t make them like that anymore.
