Had a cartridge with acrylic caulking that didn't want to come out either. It was soft but I just couldn't press it out. Looked at the bottom and you saw semi hard acrylic smear around that push in plate. I cut some away and it worked for a bit and then it started again. Looked again and finally recognized the guys at the factory forgot the plate. I had been pressing on hardened acrylic all along (cartridge had been sitting a year or two). In the end I cut the cartridge in two, put in a pusher plate from a empty one and could press out the good remains.
Gotta make a note to always check the bottom when buying 😉
