My first job was at a garage when I was 17 …you wont want to hear this, but we took the body off v w bugs and put dume buggies on them with flower tops …lol and a fancey one we would put a corver spider with twin carbs how they flew ..and we coundnt keep one in the shop ….
That is why VW sells new single cabs all ove rthe world…when they are that far gone the amount of $$ spend to get it back into road worthy shape can be astronomical!
All that rust and body corrosion damage is to be expected when the vehicle is beyond its 5 year design life and was subjected to wet/ salty road conditions most of its life! But it has great restoration potential and when done properly can fetch a huge return $$$ ! Until then Crusty it is…!
