Been there, done that with the '64 T-Bird I had. It had been my grandfathers – I remember when he bought it. I got it running again, over about 6 years, but finally realized I would never get to getting it back on the road. I sold it to a father and son so they could finish it together.

    I love the old Ford's! I had a "50" flatbed, "59" Fairlane Galaxy 500, "65" pickup camper sp. Dad had a 36 panel and a 40 coupe.

I'm glad I fell in love with the 65 and 66 mustang coupe cars. They can still be obtained at an affordable price. Those 60s Camaro's and chevelle's a man damn near gotta be rich to afford one these days. But 65 and 66 coupe mustang 6 cylinder cars can still be bought for 1500 to 2000 today

I'm with you on that, I'll take the Roadrunner over the Mustang anyday! Mustangs have always seemed kinda girlie to me for some reason, maybe because they're just a restyled Falcon, I don't know, just never been a fan.

I am 70 and I learned to drive and took my driver's test on a new 1967 Mustang 289, 3 on the floor.

I owned a 67 fastback. 390 4sp. The colors on that mustang throw me. It looks like it might be what I think was called "ivy gold" but mine was all black interior none of the green on the inside. I hated that paint. It was never supposed to be "shiny". It was almost a flat paint.

People always do that, start a restoration, prepare the body panels ,spray it with primer and leave it. Primer is porous and gives no protection at all, it is purely to key the paint, the clear coat is the protection. and they wonder why it rusts!
