Awesome info. Being naive I got rid of my 71 Lemon Yellow Super because of this. I should have kept. By the way.. diggin the song.. John Parr: Naughty Naughty .. that took me back.
Thanks for the videos. I have to do this same thing with my 1974 super. A previous owner actually welded the body to the pan, so it's no longer removable. I'm not sure why he replaced the floor pans when both the front and rear suspension were just as rotted.
@HollyDolly1004 the owner had picked them up at a swap meet but theres a ton of after market vw parts companies, if you have a problem lacating one, I will see what I can do,
free is for me too, its a great way to learn by just tinkering away at them, my first bug was a 63 when I was 13 and it was a big heap but I learned alot,
nice car i have a 1976 superbeatle my dad found on the side of the road with a free sine on it and he got it running then left in the back yard for 4 years and then gave it to me i wish mine locked that good it needs A LOT of work
Great videos. How old is this
Never thought about seam sealer over the welds. Good good idea.

Great craftmanship!
The song "Cold As Ice" by Foreigner playing in the background. So he has good taste in music also!

You'll be able to have your own TV show soon you're becoming so expert. The "bug" should be stronger now than when it was originally built.
