LOL, testing the premix pumps in a Yamaha is A waste of time, I've never found one that didn't work and I've had Yamahas for 50 years. The most common question I got on my 76 RD 400 was did I bypass the oil pump, I would always answer, why would I do something so stupid. LOL

Wow I remember that bike very well a neighbor when I was a kid had one, same color. I wish the bike makers now a days would make the old style enduros. Happy as hell on the pavement and delivered the fun on the dirt.

Don't put grease on the points cam, just put a good few drops of light oil (3 in 1) on that felt wick that's positioned about 7 o'clock between those 2 coils 👍

I picked recently a 1980 Honda XR 75. My wife had used one as a teen and we found this one at a reasonable price. I have one of those big fat mini bikes sold from Lowes.

Hopefully having to adjust the clutch will teach you what the rubber clutch plate tension rings are for. 😄

The first time for this vidio for me a lot of Japenes bikes had those rubber rings for the reason you sugesred ive left them out a little more noise but otherwise they worked the same .

This bike was so a part of my teen years. I really loved the compression release brake on it.
