I picked up this 1986 olds cutlass supreme Brougham. that had been sitting for 5 years after the owner did not want to fix what it needed, bad oil leak and a rotted frame. well I own it now so lets fix it together. vwnut1967 fixing the paint is here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glEadD8CKR8&t=29s
i used used motor oil and ligtht weight under coating that does not harden up together in same gun
For future reference, bleach breaks down into salt water pretty quickly. It's probably not a great cleaner for vehicles.
very nice whis i had on
You’re located in New England correct? How can one contact you? I actually have the same exact issue with my cutlass on the rear frame rail and I have had a hard time finding someone to fix it. Any number to contact you?
I had to comment b4 the end… it was beautiful dusty but wow that cleaned up good. I'll probly b back in here to see the frame lol 😆
Wow
Fixed about a dozen of these in a row starting with mother in laws ‘86 Monte Carlo. Found a guy locally who made complete new rails . Also he made pieces for the trunk in case a body mount bolt broke. Quick and easy , pull bolts , remove frame rail just behind shock plate .
Would you like to see this vehicle?
I'm looking at a 86 Monte that needs this. This is what's stopping me from buying it. Is this expensive to have done? I've never done metal work.
Why didn't you use pr 15 on the frame ?
Haven't seen anyone mention its PCV, (positive crankcase ventilation) not PVC, (polyvinyl chloride.).
Very nice work, the paint restoration was fantastic and the frame repair is fantastic to.
I had a 1984 4 door Cutlass Supreme with the 3.8 liter motor.
Loved that car. My frame rusted out worse than yours. Very cool to see how you fixed it. 👍
What gauge is that steel? Hardly seems heavy enogh.
For the life of me I don't understand how anyone could give a thumbs down to any of your videos??? Keep them coming I have all of my coworkers hooked on them as well we are all back yard mechanics and appreciate you.
"Stabbing yourself and bleeding really works well for this, too." LOL.
that's an awesome lift you have there.
With little rubber or plastic mudguard behind back wheels would be no rust,as I suppose…
