Pressure wash the motor . You're going to take it all apart anyways ๐Ÿ‘

The moral of the story as I've also learnt the hard way is, don't lend your stuff out. I used to feel obligated and would get guilted in to it but now I'm super comfortable in saying no, and sleeping at night.

How about info on changing from a split case trans to a typical sycro trans that came out in the 60's. What do I need to get to make the swap? Thanks

Because I'd watched a lot of Mustie prior to this video, I was calling stress fatigue very early. The valves and lower end looked good, apart from the one bent push rod, so it was unlikely oil starvation was the problem. Bet if you placed the rod under an electron microscope, the evidence would clearly be there.

Had a roommate, decided to do the good deed of mowing the back yard with my antique push mower, smashed both cast iron wheels on very obvious boulders. He gave me another mower that only worked half as well.

My buddy ran his with no muffler, he loved the extra HPs. Then the engine case cracked right in half.

If you had cut it on the other end, it would be apart.
