Great video, I learn a lot watching you. Can you take us on the search for free stuff again? I found that quite interesting as well. What I find fascinating is you’re looking for the same stuff that all us mechanics and engineers would be looking for.
Love mustie1 and love the vids but starting to find it realy hard to believe your just finding this stuff on the side of the road and it magically needs just enough work required to make a 1hour video i may be wrong but here in the uk that would never happen we never find generators and lawnmowers with free signs on ever.
Yeah, Homelite is made by Ryobi. Imagine if you can all the $hitty, plastic parts from the Ryobi shop floor, swept into a box and given to the janitor to design and engineer a "customer value" line trimmer. I worked for Bunnings for 10 years and even the Ryobi reps said they are "single use" machines. You'd be better off buying a goat. 👍
You are a very smart man, but you're not very good with whipper snippers are you? That was the funniest and most frustrating thing I have ever watched you do.
A piece of coat hanger wire with a hook in the end makes the best tool to get the filter out of the gas tank. I just cut a piece of coat hanger wire about a foot long and grab the end of it with a pair of needle nose pliers and bend it into a circle to mak a U shaped open hook in the end of it. I then use it to grab the fuel line in front of the filter in the hook and pull it out. If the filter has come off I grab the end of the broken hose with my long hemostats and pull it out.
Why would anyone question weather Mustie fakes anything he has? I wouldn't be surprised if he had an extra bolt or 2 laying around for the apollo 11 moonlander in the hoard.
These were the $69 specials I bought from the DEPOT once a year for my small lawn biz. they lasted the session and I tossed them. Were cheaper just to buy a new one than fix these turds. I also used their blowers the $89 specials. Now if I had your skills I might of tried a fix
I had a hard time getting the hose started through the tank hole, now I’ll know how to make it easier. Didn’t think to cut hose end on a bias as shown. Mine is a Homelite also and needs the idle adjustment. Thanks Mustie . Where to get the proprietary tools is the next problem.

Those spools are labeled for each line, 1and 2. If you put the line in the wrong hole, it binds and breaks off.
👍🌞!!
I just picked up 2 gas weed eaters at a yard sale for $1.00 each 1 needed new fuel line the other only needed gas and line. Both run great

Why didn’t you just switch the hoses around

Quit calling it an "air cleaner"…it's an air FILTER!! This isn't a friggin janitorial service!
