I picked up this machine along with another during our fall bulk item garbage day, it looks like it sat in the woods for 30 years. lets see if we can bring it back to life spending no money,

This is the best way to learn & get confidence to do your own maintenance and repairs & itโ€™s a great feeling to succeed! Well done @mustie1 โคyour work and knowledge! Itโ€™s given alittle something back to me I thought I lost years ago.

This man is no quitter, that's for sure. I am surprised how often lubrication is seen as the last resort rather than the first. 'If it doesn't move and it should use WD-40. (If it does move and shouldn't, use duct tape')

Glad I stumbled across your channel! Now I understand the drive mechanism completely, so's I can see how to service and tune the clutch on my daughter's LT80. I gave it to her when she was 11, and she rode it infrequently over the years (she's 26 now). I offered to get her a larger quad, like a Honda 400 EX or something similar, but she will NOT give that little Suzy up. And it is stupid fast, especially for a pocket quad.

They are called anti-rotation pins. The keep the rings in place on the piston.

I would pour some two cycle in the crankcase and rinse it out a few times.

It is called primary compression. The top of the cylinder provides secondary compression.
