I picked this 2 stage snowblower this summer and now its time to get it ready for the season, and find out why they sold it so cheap,

What is a good price for this same blower if the chute won’t turn (the gear just spins in the chute pivot), the auger needed all the shear pins and a lube to turn, the scraper bar needs to be replaced and the joystick is upside-down?

You mean you are supposed to change the oil? 😮

Are you the same guy that did 427 LS7 starter motor replacement vids? Name seems familiar. Tell ya something friend: I work on this crap almost daily and this is one of if not the single best snowblower vid I've ever seen. Probably 90% of them sit around a few years unused, then won't start, then are sold on nextdoor or craigslist or similar sights for pennies on the dollar and in exactly the same condition as this one in the vid. You covered every single thing on these that either needs adjusted, lubed, inspected or replaced. Well done Sir.

$40.00 pickup? Amazing. You have to pay a lot more for parts than $40.00. A starter (used) goes for almost that price , if not more.

I can't believe you didn't check the gear diffential in the front. I suggest draining it and filling it with gear lube. Those are expensive to replace and do wear out if not taken care of.

That Craftsmen and Power smart are the same machine, different engine, I bought mine new, go figure, all the engine oil leaked out through the case gasket, It sat two years in the shed, no snow, and of course, I cranked it up, didn't take but a few seconds I heard the drag on the piston shut it off. I called for seals / gasket, The guy tells me they don't have parts support,
I told him hay this is never been used, seals and parts are 101 pale, They pulled an engine from an other model and sent it to me, The original engine is sitting on the bench, electric start, 212 CC, put oil back in it, ran it, runs fine, oil leaked out, just left it, I haven't come up
with an use for it. Don't buy power smart mowers they are the worst.

Hey Darren looking back on your videos and now I am teaching my son about small engine repair and I use your videos as a general knowledge for fixing and or flipping machines . Your KISS approach is awesome . I just picked up two older craftsman 9 hp 27 inch cut machines for $100 they need some parts but both run well and one is missing auger shear pin . These should be great flips and machines for him to learn on also . It is March and expecting a nor’easter in yours and mine state New Hampshire a foot plus oh boy better get one up and running to sell 😅

If I moved to New Hampshire, I would call mustie and say” mustie I need a riding mower, a chainsaw and a snow blower.” I would rather have one of his than a new one as I would know with confidence that it had been gone over completely! I think this is the best channel on YouTube.

    Shoulda pulled carb.
This is not the way to run a snowblower.
I hate electric start cause someone will have a carb problem, 90% of the ones I fix do, and they crank and crank using electric start. It should start on 1 or 2 pulls. If not something is wrong.

So the wheels turning in sync is the normal default design? I got a used 2 stage self propelled snow blower much like the one in this video and thought it was broken because the wheels moved together making turning it very difficult. I'd have though they'd incorporate a slip clutch that would make that easier. I guess that sort of design would be incompatible with any reversing feature.

    $40 is a great deal

I picked up an old blower. Thats why I'm watching this video. My question is, are the wheels supposed to turn when the engine is not running? Mine are lo ked up solid.

Can you add a video on getting the electric starter to work.
