I stopped over a friends shop to help him get this 1956 vw bug that has been sitting since 1988, the shop that was hired to get it running before showing up here told the owner that the engine had no compression and was no good, now its our turn lets see if we can figure out what is wrong with it and if it will run.
Darren to the rescue 👊

Excellent shape for a 56. Usually ones I’ve ran across are total rust buckets n floors are gone. Thanks for sharing.
love the way you bring the cars back to life, Respect !!
Love ya work, ❤️🦘🦘🦘
The ties from the guys hoodie made me a little nervous dangling over the engine.

Love that '56 AND the original Mini Cooper in the background…and the Lab stuck on *sneeze*. In 1981, I worked at a VW/Subaru repair shop for almost three years. We worked on almost everything; air & water-cooled, desert & race buggies, Baja's, Subaru wagons, original Brat's, etc. Across the driveway from us was a British & Italian car repair shop. One of the mechanics gave me a ride in his Mini – very fun car! Watching these videos brings back a lot of great memories. New subscriber from southern Calif.
65,000K? That's 65 million miles! WOW now that's a BEETLE!
Great dog, I had one when I was a kid
Never understood the effort put into doing that to the distrib, move the plug wires over one or even two holes the direction needed or pull the thing and drop it where it belongs
