Jimmy Diresta here, https://www.youtube.com/user/jimmydiresta l got this broken gas drill last year from youtuber hand tool rescue asking if l could get it to run, well we kinda got it but was still having problems, since then another youtuber sent a mini gen set that has the same engine, lets see what is wrong by taking the both of them apart to see what was wrong on the drill.

I use warm WD40 or THF hydraulic fluid. soak for a day or two
Seeing that gas drill brought back memories! Linemen use them to frame an inaccessible pole! I can tell you that gas drills are a mixed bag of emotions, sometimes. Ours never had the primer button, but they either want to work, or not at all! I kept a brace & bit handy, just in case!
Thanks for the memories!
I still have one from the mont ward model 10 auger and its for sale, I has a rc chris craft with one the boat was about 4 ft long.
But, would the generator still carry on when you try to saw with it?
Boil it for a few min and your good to go
If you take Landry soap and boil it in water the diaframe will bee soft as new
Do they come in key start? 😀
(I never knew these existed until today! Now I need to find one to add to the shed.)
Cheers for the video!
You have to soak the diaphragm in brake fluid for a while like a week or so.
Good job at troubleshooting all the issues on that little motor 👍 What a battle for such a tiny engine lol
Im lookin to build an off grid back up power system to power my home in the winter a small windmill and battery bank and a converter maybe a generator cuz at 40 below solar pannels probably wont cut it n we got plenty of wind up north!
LoLoL your old carb gasket with the qtip…. worked perfectly! LoL
1st class video to watch thank you take care kind regards from me kenneth🙂
@mustie1 would be interested to see if you used a bicycle tube to cut out a diaphragm. Neat experiment maybe a future short video. You said it around 64:30
