Any idea how many ounces of oil that takes?

Well it’s not worth it is not true, if you spend 2/3 k on a new one every 4/5 years, it’s worth spending 1 k and fixing the old 20+ year one up, it will last 15/20 more years and I do it all the time
New ones are junk and extremely expensive to keep up
    From a lifetime mechanic 😊😊😊

I really enjoy fixing up the older mowers and putting them back in top shape, they will last other 20+ years with very little maintenance
Just standard service and keeping them out of the weather
I even bring my seats in house during winter and no more direct sunlight than necessary
This effort has saved thousands of dallors over the years

Just don’t bypass safety switches unless you’re trying to finish up
Then fix it, don’t allow younger kids on the mower with them bypass please 🙏

I rebuilt these old mowers all the time, I AllWAYS replace ing switch, seat switch and solenoid to start with, new battery for sure.
AllWAYS remove cover on engine every spring and clean air vent
Really spray the VS clutch unit
It may free up, or remove and replace brging

White lithium on all electric connections, not weathersealed, goes a long way in keeping connection.
