So this impossible to see component by the drain plug would best be fixed with crack grinding clear into the hole. This would properly be fixed for a customer with heli-arc welding. For personal use your fix with epoxy is good enough. To never be removed. The plug possibly ground to be like those bathroom screws that can be turned in but not removed. Then to cover the epoxy with liquid electrical tape for flexibility. One would tell anyone to use the other plug when draining oil because of this crack and manufacturing error. I have not seen another unit with two drain plugs. This error was known by the manufacturer and should have been fixed prior to sale to customers.
