Just now getting the same bike and year with my pops we just now got the cylinder on and we are trying to figure out all the timing stuff and what not, anyways good video man.
I guess you forgot to show us The stud metal sleves for the Cylinder top portion And the most jmportant step There is a special nos,oem O ring gasket that sits Inside the gasket around the Stud !!!
You can use a wide hoseclamp (or two one on top of another) as a ring compressor. A trick i learned from an old timer when i was assembling my pre- unit triumph 650.
There are supposed to be dowel sleeves at the bottom of the cylinder. They locate the cylinder and gasket precisely on the crankcase, with the studs centered in the cylinder stud holes. Without the dowels, the cylinder, and gasket won't be located properly on the crankcase and the cylinder studs will not be centered properly. It will not be possible to have the cylinder and head exactly straight on the crankcase, and will be able to move around on the crankcase. The top end needs to be removed and the correct number of dowel sleeves installed as per the factory parts listing, then reassembled properly.
I have an elsinore muffler in great condition if anybody wants to do some trading,, not sure what it came off of.. I need a speedo for my 72 sl125 a cylinder, a piston and rings and a kickstart shaft.
How can get in touch with you sir? i have small questions but i don't want to do it through comments. i'd like it to be direct messages\ personal messages. i'm a big fan, i absolutely love your videos and they are really inspiring for me as a young man.
A buddy and I were putting a new engine in his tractor and beating ourselves because we couldn’t get it to line up with the transmission…until we realized we’d left one of the alignment pins in the old engine. Second pin in place and we got the celebratory THUD when in all popped into place! Yea…stuff happens!!😁

You didn't check the the small end bush for wear, bush might need to be changed.
