I just picked up a beige 78 Westy just like it. I wish it was in as good of shape as that (rust-wise). I've got my year booked.

Mustie 1… Isn't it wonderful picking up where someone else left off. Who ever replaced that tank WAS NOT a mechanic. At least when you are done it will be done correctly! Good job!

so tell me….what is the allure with these VWs, many years ago before i had a drivers lic. i was given a Karmon Ghia, i think it was a 64 and it was old when i got it…the drivers floor was dragging under the car…after taking the seat and the rug out i realized it was wood! and i didnt know this and i thought to myself "what a piece A shit"!! lol…anyway i sold it as is after i tuned it and did a few cosmetic things

Curious, can the clutch plate or flywheel be dressed with a honing stone to remove small scratches or bad spots that aren't too deep?

Wiring harness damage looks more like chafing not mice.

The best mouse deterrent is used cat litter w/turds placed inside the cab and engine bay in like a beer flat or pie pan (foil disposable type)

A bit of cussing always helps I reckon, but Darren manages not to!
