A trick I do to get back a little from an old drum brake is to wrap the round pivot stud with some sheet metal. Typically I cut a slice of an old tin can and wrap to fit around the pin. Has the net effect to move the contact a little further away from the pivot lever.
I haven't counted lately but my wife tells me I've got fourteen motorcycles in the garage. All I know is I've been dragging a bunch of bikes around for years waiting for the day when I could work on restoring them. I did manage to put a '71 engine in a '77 triumph bonneville frame last year along with new paint and tune up. I'm ready to see if it will run so I guess I should film it.
'Never us a screwdriver as a clamp!' LOL! I wondered why you had images of tools on the tool box instead of letters, until you mentioned dyslexia on another video. For some types of reading challenges, there are exercises to help with that. Really enjoy your videos, quite sense of humor, and I'm learning a lot. Keep up the great work!
I think you should get tested – – – – I believe you might be a genius. Never thought that muffler patch was gonna fit. Or perhaps I am the one who should get tested?
dude.. spend the money and replace those parts that should be replaced. i.e. mufflers.. they are still available. if i hired this person to restore my bike, i would not accept this solution. i appreciate the vids, but please try not to half booty the project.
"Never use your screw driver as a pry bar" About the third time i have heard you say that and every time you do………….IT WORKS!!! I love it and laugh out loud every time you say it and it is always under your breath. I always use my screw driver as a pry bar and yes IT WORKS!! Thanks for bring life back to a great bike, Dr. Mustie.
should have brazed that muffler
Put an S hook on the drawer and hang the chain on the S hook.
Do you ever soak the chain in kerosene first, before soaking it in oil?
😂 get hammering
There is no one on YouTube who can hold a candle to Mustie.🏍🚔🛥🔧🔩

I took my motorcycle test on a 350 honda…. good memories
You can use a plumbers moleskin to wipe those seals on the floats, may keep them light….

I wish the swap meets/flea market had goodies like yours here…never find anything good or fairly priced
1971 is the year I came here. The old Honda is good in my book. Be Well, thanks for the movie.
