Parts and labor on this rebuild would be getting close to the cost of a new trailer. You did a fantastic job. It isn’t really a mistake if you catch it before it goes out to the customer.
Butt connectors should only be used inside vehicles? Everything electrical exposed to the elements should be soldiered and coated with silicone rtv and a heat shrink slipped over and shrunk. Especially in locations where it snows?
Opinions are like azz holes we all have them and they all stink, the only thing I might have done different is where the rubber hose needed to hang down, would be to thread the hose first through a piece of spring material to protect them from damage on job sites, when the trailer is being backed up in places not made for a trailer, and it drags but pretty cool how you figured out that entire hitch brake system, I've never messed with one of those before, I see some of that wrestling footage was cut, I'm sure a few course words were needed.
Splicing wire w/ thermofits and heat shrinkable tubing w/ adhesive seems to work well.
i have to close my eyes for the welding part because it disorients me
Steel and brass do mixed together
I tried to help you when you were trying to think of Gie;ectric Crease HA ! Thanks for sharing
Looks brand-new mustie1 good job.
Another great series. Again, learned a lot as usual. Keep up the great explaining and sharing!
I find ratchet crimpers are the best.
did we ever do the brakes on this thing?
I've looked for hours and can't find it
You get a much more permanent splice using soldered connections with shrink tubing, but connectors are at best good for a while!
Better than new. That's a good trailer now.
that's not brass, it's yellow Chinesium

I do NOT have an opinion or a comment unless my wife gives me one first.
