Not a big fan of the patina/history look, I'd prefer straight, one colour or even twotone but I also appreciate the patina that you like too. To each their own.
You and your damn rust! Treat it, prime it (a few times) & paint it! Actually, a textured bed finish would also look nice, but for Pete's sake, don't finish it in that distressed look. I have too much time invested in this truck to see you leave it "krusty"! 😆😆😆
Is there such a thing as auto darkening filters for a camera lens? It would be very cool to watch as you weld and to actually see something. Been binging on your channel for days, bad thing is I’m almost caught up. Learned a ton from you. Great work. Keep the projects coming. Thanks for sharing.
When I saw the first videos of this I didn't like it at all, but after the body work It's really growing on me. I don't think how it's painted will make it look better or worse to me. Your probably done with it anyway, but it's new to me today. I like what Turning Rust did to their pickup in a youtube video. It had paint with rust in the paint so the metal wouldn't rust ,but the truck looked all rusty with a painted on "Beeline fuel, Chase N Honey & Willey B Stung" logos. Just going by your other projects, I'll probably love the finished project the way you do it. Great video and great work.
That one guy who asks….why drive around in a rust bucket……he sure doesn't know anything about patina…..and an old truck that is a survivor…..and notice all the attention Crusty gets….because nobody has one of those old VWs
Hey-ya, Mustie I know everyone has got their own preferences for welders but have you ever tried Arc welding as I prefer to the mig
I would paint the whole thing that's just my opinion

You need to paint it, there is too much body work on it to look good as patina.

Just paint it you'll like it a lot better
Not that i matter but i'd prefer using weld spray or rustolium or both and oil.
It never fails man I roll my Bobcat 250 out. And the power comes on 30 minutes later.

Love your video's, but these old 480p videos make me feel like I'm losing my vision. I'm so glad you have a better camera now.
