Fantastic repair vid ! I have the same repair required on my 1970. Now I know it's possible ! What gauge steel did you use ? Keep the vw vids coming ! Awesome work
(In reference to you saying it's better not to cut all the rot out at once, and do one section at a time)…Ya, I work the same way too.But I Do one job at a time cause I'm too stupid to do everything at once and then forget half of what I started at the beginning. Then get overwhelmed with all of the work I got left , get pissed off, loose interest, and go back to drinking. I'll Fix 1 thing form start to finish, and I can check it off a list, and I feel better as I see more checks marks for jobs that are completed. And not have to worry about the whole job, just accomplishing the 1000 little jobs that lead to the end…."then" I can go back to abusing my liver. 😀 Only two months behind on your videos, but getting there!
If a shop is doing it, they probably do that so you won't take it back with a bunch of metal missing when they take forever.
Good show!
