Hey mustie 1I really love your steampunk motorbike I really wish that I had a great bike like that and I do like all of your motorbike builds but the steampunk motorbike is awesome I bet it's a blast to ride?
That add on tube on the muffler assembly is there to block sparks and backfire flames from being exposed to fumes in aircraft that have been buttoned up for days. Back then that was a problem on some aircraft. Even overnight they could accumulate. They use high octane fuel back then. The ones we had in Coast Guard Grumman HU16e Albatross seaplanes were way larger cousins to that one. They had a similar setup on them as well.
Good use the motor to build a bike and use the generator to build a windmill on top of the garage who cares what you get out of it even if you just get a trickle charger you win
Actually this motor/generator combo is called a put-put. It sat in the rear fuselage section of the A-26 Havoc or B-29 Superfort and was used as auxiliary power to fireup the electronics and help crank the engines over.
I know it can't be done, unless it's a trike, but would be cool to see that APU used to power a D.C. Motor to drive the bike…but when you were done the bike would weigh a ton.

Yes they are artistically but I really don't like to watch you build them I my unsubscribe if you keep it up
The bicycles have no practical use they don't sell that I know of I don't know why you waste your time with them
Something's happening all right you definitely can tell you're in pain and you're just ruining a perfectly good generator
And for your back try to lanacane patches especially if you can get them prescribed by your doctor

That window valve for the air/fuel mix reminds me of the Kawasaki "rotary valve" that they used on the 70's 250 f8s.
Thanks Mustie1 for another great video.
Isn't it mounted on the plane and it's called the putt putt?
That was so cool seeing you take that apart. It wanted to make me go take something apart:-)
Tinkering Rules!!
This is what YT was made for…
