the chassis support panel its far gone as u have to pull the body to replace that i seen worse i used to have a 70 bug the bottom of the frame tunnel aft of the frame head rusted off so it was a loss. as i remember its the chassis support panel and Frame head was bad on it too. i have a 68 bug i had the driver's floorpan replaced soon it be the passenger side its rusting out where the footboard is and where the seat tracks are. the seat tracks differ over the years from 46-70, 71-72, 73-79 as the later pans have the front seat mount. problem with these old air=cooled they love to rust just keep them out of the winter salts in the northeastern US and away from the coastal areas such as beaches as the sea air can rust them. putting it in storage over a plywood floor would keep it dry. on my bug every now and then have to patch rust spots in the wheelwells and the driver's door pillar area. but its a runner for the 68 bug having trouble finding the specified engine that came with it an H5 1500 single port engine.
That's a whole lot of work sir. Makes my back hurt just looking at it.
