Mustie1 I got the greatest thing since sliced bread when it comes to fabricating steel panels like that. Go to any orschlens Tractor Supply any place like that the sells feed bags / dog food bags. And ask them for their Old Slip sheets.. You don't want the corrugated cardboard ones. you want the flat paper ones. They're 14 gauge. they're perfect all you got to do is get a water bottle and mist them just lightly and they will literally fold into any shape you can cut them with a razor knife. You can cut shapes draw whatever you want on them and cut it out. I've got stacks of them in my shop that I use for everything. There great for changing oil also.
I've been wanting to bend some cardboard, what was the part number of the Harbor Freight cardboard bender and what thickness cardboard will it go up to? 😉
Nice new panel, I'm sure it will be every bit as good a factory once welded in. That old plate covering the mess, heck even the cardboard template looked sounder!
Mustie1, Looking at the bus, I was trying to figure out where I would start, and U hit it right, first thing is having the motor fall out is bad, so that gives one a good starting point.
That's pretty high up on my list when I get home. Need to do some similar work to the jeep, and fix the brakes .. Winter's already here, and I'm down South, but I don't think it's going to go away when I come back. Good work you're doing ..
wish I had a decent brake like that one. my brake from HF is crap. JUst barely gets me by

The is a neat job. Could you not get some tube and replicate the sleeves for the engine mountings. That way you could replace the whole lot.
watching! good stuff
