The guys at work once mounted a little B&S engine on a training rig they built out of an International B414. It pop-pop-popped its way around pretty well, though the engine was there purely to make the rig mobile, nothing more then that.
This actually represents a guy who took his mother way too serious the guy that built that bug with the little motor on it. When she said waste not want not. The bug was probably rotted around the frame in the motor was gone so he decided to make a buggy out of it. There's just some things that should not be done. Fat girls and mopeds, and stuff like that 🙂
Thanks for this video! Now if I get a VW Bug someday and the engine craps out I know what to do. Some of these modern small V2 gas engines are putting out as much or more power than the original VW engine. I think I would put a Comet style belt torque converter in it instead of that centrifugal clutch.
Please tell me about the front seats in your VW bus…they look great…I have a VW bus that needs to have the seats either replaced or rebuilt…yours are so cool !!
Hey Mustie1, I'm glad that the front of the VW like thing is not complete, it one fall off forward, it would run right over you. I do like the gear reduction idea, it would work well with a golf cart rear that formerly had an electric motor on it. Mother Earth built a tractor out of a VW rear axel/transmission about 35years ago. Thanks for the video, it gives me ideas, I have a ford ranger with a bad motor that would be cool with a ratio reduced single cylinder engine.
im missing the time when mustie used to reply to the comments
Cool
Is that Kohler a 151T?

Have you ever thought about putting a Briggs and Stratton or a Preditor motor on a VW ?

That thing looks scary as hell to ride.
That's cool! Guess the original setup was too fast for him! 😉
that is an odd machine..if you get it, it will be in good hands!
You need to build one asap 🙂

Not sure I would want to go for a ride on that. Don't look very safe.
