My dad has a splitty I think he has some vids of it on his channel he has done a Subaru conversion for reliability his channel is Nathan lewis uk (I think)
Just subscribed and I think I made a good decision. I have owned VWs from a 65 truck like this one, a 64 Bug and 71 & 76 buses. I’ve done everything from body work to engine rebuilds. On the 65 truck I restored the engine and cleaned everything down to the metal. Very pretty engine. I had it spread out on a sheet part by part. Like you, I left the patina on, but had to remove paint that someone had brushed on! I found “Bob’s Garage” on the nose. She was a great project car.
Normally, I am not a big fan of "shabby chic". But on this vehicle, anything else would be a sin. I love your videos. No yelling or cussing, just a guy having a good time. Keep up the good work and thanks for all of the entertainment.
Brings back memories of driving a 1959 VW bus as a taxi in Wakefield, MA while in college. Fun to drive, but not very durable for two eight hour shifts, 24/7

You are amazing man! I wish I had half the energy you had.
