HI Mustie1, I know this is many years later, but I just seen your videos on welding tips for beginners, which I will be once I get a welder. Thats how new I am. Your tips seem to be very good and simple. As most of your explanations are when explaining something. I hope to aquire a project sometime in the near future which probably will require some welding. I sure wich you did not live across the country, your teaching one on one would be fantastic. so long from Arizona.

Arc eye as British say it, it’s when the flash burns the layer of skin from your eye, very painful and it’s like putting a Brillo pad, err wire wool under your eyelids,

The best compliment I can give you is I wish my Dad had been more like you! You are an incredible teacher! Thank you very very much for what you do! I’m sure this has been an evolving evolution AND IM SURE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT QUITTING MORE THAN ONCE! Let me say I’m am glad you stuck with it! I have seen you on camera ,, more than once when I’m certain you didn’t want to be working on a project for one reason or another, but you seem to catch your breath and keep going! Thank you! One project that seemed to wear you down ,( and many of us viewers) was the motorized hand drill that was used for tree sapp! You stepped away but you never gave up! In my opinion you are an American example of what all good fathers should be! I’m guessing you are from New Hampshire! That is really impressive as I did not think men who work with their hands and brains at the same time existed above the Mason Dixon line!!! You would make a great southern boy! LOL,,, I don’t know how I missed this video from seven years ago but once I saw it I had to compliment your teaching style!!!! I know you have been contacted by studios to produce TV show but I’m glad you haven’t! Your You Tube format is the only way to keep your style, personality, teaching rhythm, protocol and enjoyment all intact ! I watch one of your videos almost everyday. It never gets old and I learn at least one new thing every time I watch!!! I don’t know anything about you! In these crazy times we live in that is probably best, so I will keep calling you Mustie and again thank you!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you … great information and how serendipitous too I needed to reup on the flux core and learning curve. need to crank a few beads. some of my older friends usta call me "Dog Pile" cuz that's the way I welded.
Flash hurts; eye doctor said it is basically sunburning your eye{s}.. OUCH
You can get flash walking by someone welding by reflection off bright objects.
