I'm with you on the buying them with 160000 miles on them. But I buy GMCs I've had 4 GMCs in my life and all of them have ran past 350,000 and only done transmission on one and didn't probably need to do it but I was pulling a dump trailer and just had some shifting issues in first and second. That was in my 2003 Denali XL.
we just bought a2012 4runner trail and its great so far, gonna keep it up to 300,000 since 4runners have such a good reputation. i myself have a 2001 chevy blazer with 143k and im thinking about selling it and getting a 2001 4runner with 175k for 7,800. no rust sr5 and is in really good condition. do you think i should make the switch? my sisters friend had a 97 4runner at 320,000 miles-she feel asleep at the wheel and rolled it across the highway roof held up good and was a great truck
I got tired of paying good money for american cars that didn't take care of me : (
so I too started buying used Toyota's however i don't like to pay more than $1500 for them
i run them till they are just don't want to run , drive, & go down the road & then i send them to the great scrap yard in the sky : ) take care
gotta agree on the toyotas, got a 98 corolla with 270 thousand and still runs like a top,id buy another when this one is gone,i think u found your brother a good vehicle, have a good one

@mustie1 Prob needed one for a long time then. I usually works for me.
we tried that first but it dident work
I hope you didn't put a cat on it, just run a gallon a lacquer thinner through it with a half of a tank of gas and it should burn the impurities out
I have a 2000 4 runner 2 wheel drive, and I love the damn car! just clayed it and waxed it and 4 runner RULES!!
