The real test of proper thumb design is to pick up a TV and throw it over your house into the neighbor's yard.
After seeing the trouble you were having with the wires, you need to be on the lookout for a huge pair of novelty scissors that the new thumb could operate. You could also use them to trim super thick toenails like mine.
