Always wanted a 49 stude truck… Do a bit more mild top chop but a more aggressive body chop to bring doors more inline with the bed rails and then drop the floor to regain the interior space. 3rd gen hemi (hell crate engine I believe it's called) and take a wrecked hellcat for suspension and assorted running gear. Flat black, with semigloss pearl black flames. Oh I could go on but short of a lottery win… I won't ever see it done and I don't play lotteries. But that dream has been with me for 30 years (different hemi earlier on as well as running gear) and will be with me for 30 more…. I hope.
Love The Truck & I Would Love To Have Had That…I Never Under Stand Why These Kids/Family Would /or Even Could Sell Something Like That That Thair Dad/parents/family member Loved So Much & Put So Much Hard Work into It ! That Just Blows my mind How Greedy kids are now days an just shows how little they care i suppose but maybe im just to old fashioned hell if i know !..well when dad Finally kicks the bucket we will sell every thing he owed an go to Vegas & blow it ! ..I Just Dont Understand it !!
Thats a M series in 1949 Studebaker changed the body style completely to an R series , there's no way in hell that's a 49. I own Studebakers and have had both R's and M's and that's an M series ,M series were built 1941 thru 48 .

Wow, awesome.
Correct that is a 48 or older I am building a 47 only using panels and cab custom made frame suspension brand new ls 3 with a 5 speed
too bad this truck was not rebuilt to the original.
The mods kill it for me, but your mileage may vary.
I think on the next page of that paper….was an article about the uses of a good USA made Farnicastaff…..oh yea..!
Nice, I'm sure it's gone by now.
Great video but its not a '49- that body style is an "M" series- built from 41-48- the 49 was a completely different style..
That was Awsome! what a fantastic machine!
