picked up this none running kart about 2 months ago, went through the 5hp honda to get it running but now lets up the game with a vtwin briggs from a broken gen set. had to make some parts on a lthe but l think its going to be worth it.

Build the shaft up eith weld and then lave it down to size

You need to rename that thing bad to the bone
You have a lathe, you could have cut a ring spacer to fit inside the sprocket and the outside of the hub. That would have done most of the lineup. Them tack it, adjust and the weld the heck out of it. I like Gary's suggestion of welding it up then cutting it down to fit on the lathe. Then maybe you did since I'm not to the end of the video yet. Wish I had a lathe.
Back in the day when we use the gear puller. We will get it tight and then we hit it with a hammer and It would Knock off the gear or whatever you were removing. It work but 90% of the time
