We use the roller version of the lacer at work for wide belts on a flume style water ride thos things are tough. If you can take that secion of the serpentine belt that will be clamped flat they will bend much better

Oh, the bike build is epic. I went forward in time and actually have seen this in person. Masterpiece.

besides heating up those pedal assemblies why can't you just widen them by adding material in the middle of them?modern mountain bikes basically have a Jack shaft with removable petal arms. So if you just widen the shaft then your petals would clear besides making the bearing housing for that a little wider.

Kids don't have etch a sketch? I guess you dont need it. I saw a 5 and 6 year old the other day at a restaurant with their own Iphone 7 or what ever the new one is, mom was also on her iphone. I get pissed when I'm out to eat with someone and they start playing with their phone. KIDS THESE DAYS! (Im only in my 30's 🙁 )

Do they have to be able to pedal?

Good find on the little Craftsman/Dunlap lathe, lots of guys always looking for one. Do you ever sell any of your (bike) creations?

Mustie…..any concern about power? That little engine looks cool as hell, but not very strong. By the time it runs through all it's pulleys and belts that might not leave a lot of juice to haul around the weight of the bike and rider.

As always is great to see you going through the planning stage and the ideas you have a long the way.

Putting leather drive belts together is called "lacing" And you have a rather nice Clipper lacing setup there too. Keith Rucker has a couple of really good videos about lacing belts if your interested.
