we are getting to the point of this car so it can be enjoyed for the summer. time to put the new door panals on and use bar and chain oil to stop the rust.

    Could the oil soften that old factory undercoating or what looks like ziebart and reactivate it somewhat into the crevacies? Just wondeiring. Grandfather's nephew worked on the state roads and he would bring home diesel fuel from work th spray under his pickup to keep the salt water off.

    With oiling, you actually don't need to worry too much about any moisture being present on the surface as the oil's greater viscosity has a stronger bond than water so eventually disperses it.
