Mustie1 your channel is great. I knew instantly what you had when the second engine was fired up. In 1961 I owned a Go Kart (brand name) powered by an AH-47. It's no cheap lawn mower engine. It is a 4.7 cubic inch, ball and needle bearing, screamer. The unique, exciting sound comes from characteristics of the reed plate. Doing 45-50 mph 2" off the ground —-What a thrill. Now in my mid 70's I still haven't forgotten.
I've been asking your name for a whilethat's kind of important but I would keep the first build I want to see you get it running!! And I know you can do it sir!!!!!
During WWII they used small generators for a power source on bombers, they called them "put puts". That might be a fun design idea used airplane parts.
if the float has tiny holes.. and fills with fuel.. it will never work right for long.that is far more likely than the housing itself being bad ( but freezing will bust anything).I have heated and soldered floats..but I am here to tell you the magic word is NEW FLOAT..and if it is unobtanium.. make one from plastic foam

When you were showing the the float bowl you can see pieces of trash floating around inside the bowl

Buoyancy is defined by less weight than the liquid a specific object displaces.
…a carburetor float, an iceberg, a ship, or whatever.
