I need to ask the question, after 5 years… DID the Black Knight always triumph?
These old bikes could be had with dynamo rims. They are MUCH, MUCH better than bottle dynamos. Bottle dynamos are trash. They burn out the lights if you go too fast. Dynamo rims don't do that. The bulbs are still available, but the dynamo ones are not.
Shadetree mechanic stuff right here SMH
you are good but you think to much maby
That seat looks like an old cloth cap and suits the bike. Perfect.
Hi best thing to use is a steam gun as it softens the leather/ cloath cheers mate
With the leather for the seat, I would have rubbed the inside with "Dubbin" (bee wax) and left it in the sun to help it soak in. 🙂
you might want to bring it forward to the loop spring it will look much better.
Anyone else screaming clips at the computer?
Hi Mustie
What a fantastic project, I have already seen the final outcome, I think you have done a great job. Well done sir and keep on making your videos, I love you playing around with VW engines and have seen many of your videos keep up the good work.

Nice Paul Cox reference. Lol
18-inch seat post with a metal rod inside
Looks like a metal de-baller
Make a thin plywood ,then glue it to the metal, then staple the leather to the wood
