This moped was one of brands that were manufactured by minerelli, these were generally “top tank” in design, but also had a scooter tank design. I owned and rode a “ General 5 star” when I was about 15, it had a big bore kit, drilled air cleaner, and high speed sprockets. This moped would top out at about 40 miles/hr, with me on it at the time I weighed 190 lbs, and was 6 ft tall. These machines were designed for someone who was a little smaller, about 5’ tall, and about 100 lbs, like my girlfriend at the time, hers was just like mine, and she could go 47- 50 mph! We had a blast exploring the N.J. Tri-state area with 50 per week between us. We both had to have either a basic drivers license, or a moped license, registration & insurance, I had built a utility trailer for hers, and a small shelter trailer for mine.
Thank you for taking me back to the 1980’s, and some great memories!
Hi Mustie, a friend of mine had a 1964 VW Bug with a heater that used gas from the gas tank, that heater worked weather the car was running or not and it really worked well. even at 10 below zero it was a very warm car inside. I believe it was made as a after market item for the VW because the heaters were so bad from VW.
Maybe you know this but I will mention it the moped or any tank you can put apple cider vinegar and let it sit a couple days and turn it and so forth turning it every couple days will take all the rust out of the tank!

I would bet that the heat pipe was welded shut by someone cluelessly trying to get more heat up front.

does New Hampshire have to pass emissions? I know in wisconsin we don't have emissions checks so people pretty much just ignore emissions systems.
