Great educational vid
Hi a few years back 12 yrs of more ago I bought a diesel gen set from harbor freight was a great generator however the mice had eaten a corner of the fewer tank the fuel destroyed the motor mount causing the engine shaft to the generator to snap. I gave to a friend he somehow was able to weld the shaft and is still in use today that is pretty good engine 😁 enjoy your videos thanks, I’m an old timer 82 yrs old.
This one was a real Bogger😮
“I don’t know how well that’s gonna wanna come apart, but at least we know the cranks good…”
ITS NOT lol I’ve watched this more than twice so I know you’re gonna have a ton of trouble. Glad you don’t know it yet tho… :))
Looks like you are bending the puller thread shaft!
I like the puller idea you came up with!
Probably going to have to let it soak more than 5 minutes!
Looks like you are moving the sleeve in the crankcase, piston is froze to the sleeve!
Before you start I WOULD GIVE YOUU $50.00 for it!
Yard sale special
I know this is an old video but what is common with marine diesels, if they aren't installed properly, that when they are shut down they can get salt water sucked back into the cylinder. If used often enough they may start and run and that could account for all that crap on the top of the piston. Eventually they rust to the point where the engine wont turn over. Many owners just chuck them. Then of course they often sit for years and get like yours.
Best thing I've ever used to unseize pistons/rings was engine oil heated up in a pan
I know this is 2 years old but damn I yelled "Used Acetone and ATF" and you did. perfect.
allways use pblaster
