I remember a Cushman, If I pushed and had the lettuce, it would have been mine. Also if I had a place to store it. Mothers and Fathers of America, allow your children to store their (i before e) seemingly worthless crap in your basement, your garage, YOUR DRIVEWAY! (Ordinance permitting). They know; One day, it will be worth a fortune. Hind sight is 20/20. Missing out now is blindness.
Hello Mustie1. My name is Marlin and I love all your videos that I have seen so far, that is quite a few. Did you use to be or are you a small engine technician? Do you like to tinker with things? Do you like to work with your hands? I, for one, love working with my hands and it turns out that I can fix just about anything I put my hands on. I love how you explain things as you go along in your videos.
Hey Darrin. Did you restore this bike ? It has great lines when you take off the bar that was welded on the back seat !! Knowing you it would be really nice !
I've never seen a Cushman with any kind of rear suspension before, that is really odd. Some of the guys who restore the old Cushman Eagles put a Vanguard V twin on them with a CVT transmission, those things really run with those V twins on them. The reason why they replace the engines, the later model Cushmans, starting about 63-64, had an OMC aluminum engine in them, they turned out to be troublesome so they substitute a different engine rather than rebuild. The old cast iron engines were pretty bulletproof, their only fault is if you took them out on the highway and ran several miles wide open, being a splash lube design they didn't tolerate that kind of abuse and could seize up. As long as you didn't abuse them they didn't really have any problems.
You can get any parts you need from Dennis Carpenter at his business in Charlotte North Carolina He bought the Cushman tooling Dave
You guys need to come on down and see us here in TEXAS.
I really like what you do. I have a neighbor who is always working on machines.
Carry on guys.
I like that Cushman, it looks like a great project! Watching you might inspire me to work on some projects of my own.
