it's not self-explanatory. There are instructions. It's supposed to go from right to left in order to cut. It's automatic! Pull lever on far left. You should Google the instructions
Why don't you let the automatic machine do it automatically gee if you would spend 10 minutes to learn how to operate it you would be qualified to make keys on it! No you don't know anything about operating your machine, yet you are trying to teach people the WRONG WAY TO USE THAT MACHINE! thank GOD there are others on youtube that knows how to make a key with that machine!
What ever you do with a key cutting machine do not mess with the tracer dog, especially one that's very accurate. I spent twenty minutes to get it back right after one of my dad's employee was adjusting it for that one key he was having trouble with. I thought it was over for that machine, but I got it back to normal.

There is a swivel lever on the left that is used to align the keys
You are missing the line up bar I have the same key cutting machine.

Why don't you use the key alignment guide you have been rubbing your left finger allover it… you can align both keys at the same time
