I have the same year double cab and I just spent a couple hours cleaning out the gas tank compartment, that job might be worse. I came out just as dirty and I could barely reach. It is such an awkward position, I am curious how you cleaned yours out. Hope to see more videos of this double cab, but I know it gave you tennis elbow working on it!

Welding sheet metal above the older surface edges causes following rusted metal sheets. For a durable restoration the rebuilt sheets have be aligned properly lined-in to the existing.
Then soak the whole frame with mike sanders fliud and on the outside paint it at least with brantho korrux.

Your method is bleaching and causes in humid conditions again rusted sheet metal profiles.

Great metal work ! I got a question though: Why, as other body resto shops, you don't sand blast or nowadays "media blast" the whole truck ? Especially the underbody, frame etc and then spray on an undercoat sealer prior ta any welding? I know you're not building a concours truck but it should make your life easier, no ?

I stumbled across your channel and have quite enjoyed your videos. Loving the work you are doing on the double cab. It's a great utility vehicle.

I love what you make and fix. I get a lot of Ideals from you. I would love to help you if I could but I know for the most part you are a one man show. BTW I loved the video that you posted where you took time out to go get something but you ended up playing in the snow with your 4×4. Have a good New Year.

Mustie1, For me, 15minute videos are about right, kind of depends on the topic and the natural end… One of the trips to the eye doctor to have metal removed was after cleaning up under a dodge van before under coating… Ur van cleaned up real well, no so much for my dodge van… Thanks for posting!

It's a dirty job. Looks like a Martian was in the shop right there at the last. Be careful.
