Looks like the rockers are probably 1.4 to 1 Autocraft but they have upgraded springs and retainers too. AE cases have dual pressure relief. That motor probably has larger pistons too – at least to 1650cc (88mm pistons I believe) which was common back in the day. The dual Kadrons would dramatically increase the power IMO, go back to that. You just have to know how to sync/tune them – EASY. I've been away many years from my VW days but that's what I recall. 1650 with high lift rockers and dual Kadrons or single 40mm Weber was the norm back then. Cheers.
For removing and installing aircooled VW motors, a grocery store shopping cart frame works great. Plenty of derelict(no longer useable for shopping) shopping carts behind grocery stores, homeless, abandoned… Chop off the upper section. The 4 wheels and the "U" shaped (if looking at it from above)frame is what you need. Roll the frame under the car. Then roll your floor jack into the open end of the "U" shaped frame. Lower the motor onto the cart frame and remove the jack. With the motor resting on the shopping cart frame you can pull it out, roll it around, etc. The low profile "shopping cart engine dolly" also reduces the height that you have to lift the car to clear the rear sheet metal. Just a tip.
Clicked on a random video out of no where from your whole list and bam learned something new again. There are racheting pedals system. 10 of july 2013, as I write this, end of august 2020. Lot have changed since then. but still interresting video! keep em coming!
Just watching this series, I know how you feel with kidney stones. I currently have 5 of them in my right kidney. I know your pain and what your going through.
Neat stuff. Hope all is well and getting better for ya. My gril friend had those kidney stones she said it was holy heck. I can't imagine. Glad your getting through it. Mustie 1. Take care.
Getting motivated myself Mustie1. Kudos to you for your wonderful channel and the education it provides. Seems like I've always got a carb or two to work on and here I've had a Sonic parts washer in my closet for the past 4 years or so and forgotten all about it… till yesterday.
Got it out and used it a couple of times. What's your recipe for the cleaning solution again ?
I've also been polishing those tips on the float valves… Love this little lesson โค๏ธ.
Do you tell everyone to text you on telegram

The "AE" engine cases were some of the strongest.
