Can anyone tell me which tool is used to compress that c-clip.. a new one. I have a small c-clip pliers that I bought from advance Auto but it's not doing it. I think mine is designed to go in tiny little holes whereas this c-clip just has grooves cut into it
My 2004 F150 had the O/D light blinking, then trans fault, then code 720 and 722. Would only go into reverse. Replaced speed sensors. No luck. Others told me this may be to problem. Going to try this next. Thanks for the video.
Another tip also. I have a 2008 ford f 150 king ranch with same trans and engine. Ford had the ingenious idea of putting plastic check balls in the valve body. I believe there are 7 or 10 in the valve body. Either way, it will develop a shudder between 2nd and third gear, because the plastic check balls wear down, not allowing the spools to seal properly. So if you have the overdrive problem, just replace the check balls while you are in there. They are a whole $8 bucks on amazon. Great video, great info.
Did you by any chance put hold the ring pieces together to make sure you had it all? I haven't finished watching the video and I probably shouldn't ask this question. But that was my first thought when he walked away. No go back to make sure all the pieces are there…
Stupid question: I see that you reused the pan gasket, but how about the gasket between the trans and the valve body? It seems to me that if it came off easily and intact, it should be fine to reuse, yes?
Thanks for this (and Part 1). From looking around, and these videos/comments, it sounds like this is the issue that just cropped up with my 2005 Crown Vic. I was worried about how much the transmission had to come apart until I found your videos. Oddly enough, I was already watching your channel fro the Cushman 3-wheeler rebuild!
This video was extremely helpful. Shop wanted $1,000 to do this repair. Took me 3 hours to include waiting for it to drain and it works like new. Thanks!
Please identify the transmission model. I’m sure it’s used in more than Ford pick ups

My only issue is getting the broken snap rings out when only the ears break off. Any suggestions

What causes the snap ring to break? Any upgrades available?
Did you find an steel balls when you removed valve body.
