a friend called me wanting to clean out his building of some mopeds that were never put into production after having issues with the batteries, lets see what we can do with them.

Hi Mustie1 THis is a 72 volt ebike the motor will either be a 500 watt or 750 watt, the red button below the headlight switch is a kill button for the motor incase of any failure, also some of these were a 48 volt they also make on some ebikes 84 volt and on rare occasions 96 volt this bike would have had 6 12 volt 20 AH lead acid batteries in them hooked up in series they sell these proticular ebikes in Canada I hope that helps you.

18650 batteries are very common. You can obtain them from anything from laptops to power equipment. There are many ways to wake them up after others have discarded them and most packs that are thrown away are at least 50% reusable. 25% high powered and 25% dead (again you can wake them up). Constructing a reasonably good BMS is the primary problem with anything that uses these batteries. The only (well mostly) reason that they would have caught fire is a lousy BMS. So many things to do, so many rabbit holes to investigate.

I THINK YOU SHOULD GET RID OF THE ELECTRIC PART AND GO WITH SOME KIND OF GAS POWERED INGESTION OR MOTOR THAT'S WHAT I'M THINKING

Why dont you fix them to the point that they are dependable and find 5 homeless people who are really trying to do something with their livesand help them out having transportation gives you a great deal of motivation and pride that comes with having fought back and not giving up

Greetings: First crazy idea – use a gas generator to convert the 120VAC output to 72vdc using a switch-mode power supply. The generator's 12 output could power the 12v accessories (lights and possibly the controller circuits).Of course the environmentalists would have you.) A 2200 watt (2.2kw) gen outputs about 3HP according to the math. Qwik chek has Ali-Express selling one for $114 & $45 shipping (new)

the wat of the motor doesn't matter they will take all you can give them as long as you don't hook 220 up to it I don't think you're going to have a problem
