Dad replaced the spindles on a mower once and he put grease fittings in them,no more problems with them locking up.

Put new bearings in the spindles for about $10 each. Could rebuild the whole deck for $50-$60.
spindles like everything else need cleaning and lubrication and keep this equipment OUT of the weather in between use!
