6 years down the track and nothing really changes. I know the feeling of lack of motivation, mainly brought on by inclement weather, or just plain having a number of chores that I would rather not do, but they have to take priority, if you understand what I'm saying. But like all of your fans and followers, I think you're an amazing craftsman and logical thinker. You keep makin' 'em and I'll keep watchin' e'm. Oh, and have a great Christmas and all the very best for the New Year.
Thank you mustie1, I've been a welder for 30 years on the side. I had no idea how they were making this stuff so light. I have the new Miller plasma cutter that'll cut up to 3/4 inch. I think it's a 675 or something like that. And couldn't figure out how they made it so small one so light. Thank you for the information Sur.
A hundred hours labor is 2&1/2 weeks at 40 hours/week. A thousand dollar profit doesn’t sound bad, until you do the math. You assume all the tools, skills, knowledge, parts availability, and risk for only $10/hour. Then you have to sell it. $10/hour for skilled labor is not even close to good, especially when you are self-employed.
Thanks for this Mustie. I hope everything works out well for you. I think it did as this is the latter part of 2018 and you completed the Beaver. I am in the Future! 🙂
Thank you so much for talking about the emotional struggle to stay motivated. We all go through it. Hoping that the desire to create will win out and drive you forward.
Mustie1, I should use Ur thoughts on the super beetle on some of my project…. Good luck on the in laws property / stuff, been there and done that when my in laws passed…. A lot of work and a lot of emotions… Wow, the video of Ur yard looks like my yard, I so feel at home Bud!!!! Weather by me has been crap also… Keep the Lincoln, it is smaller and lighter!
When I went to buy a Miller 211 they were out of stock so I settled on the 180. I do like the idea of how much lighter the 211 is due to design. I'm sure you will be very pleased with it. I have had nothing but good luck with the miller welders
Wish you the best in the future. Sad deal to go thru. Despite all things that are going on sounds like your making the best of them. Stay positive my friend.
