Such a beautiful job don't you think you could have found something like an old Briggs & Stratton motor from the 20s to put it in there instead of that fucking butt-ugly motor the thing looks like it's from the but the fucking motor is ugly as hell you should have picked an old motor
In my early teens (that's 60 years ago…) I built a motor bike using the same Reo mower engine. I used a wooden pulley of about 18" diameter on the back wheel, which was way too small. Did no frame mods as we didn't have a welder. Used the the old reel mover deck as engage, held up by strong springs until stepped on. Belt was braided twine. But it was a blast. Furthest I ever went with it was 14 miles. Top speed about 10-12 MPH. Your series brought back many fun memories.
Cannot believe you took this particular engine and made perhaps the coolest motorized bike ever in my opinion! That REO reel mower engine is the exact engine I cobbled a 5 speed 5 horse riding mower transmission to and built my very first go cart out of when I was 11. It was truly a sight to see, all wood, rope and feet steering, a ridiculous looking drive system, and it was fun between constant repairs and tweaking. Memory lane, you know how it is. Thanks again for your excellent channel Mustie1
Hey Darrin. You sure have a talent for designing and building your one of a kind bikes ! I have tried but, never got the gearing and belts figured so I am learning a lot but, You are in a league of your own ! Thanks for the videos !
Wow that looks great. And fun to ride too. hee hee. Your gong a good thirty miles an hour maybe. Time to put a new gasket on it and go a lot faster then with more compression.ย
I hope you read this, a head gasket can be made of annealed copper sheet pretty easily.

Oh man every time you kept looking off in the woods had thought you were driving off into the Woods. That got my heart racing…
Mustie please add another brake , if youโre riding on the road you may need to stop fast. Safety first !
THANK YOU…for sharing. Thank you for the ride.

Someone explain to me why have the large rim gear as opposed to the 44 or 40 tooth gear? Seems like it would make the bike slower. Just curious
Hey , I saw this rig at the Lichfield bugin show. So cool.
