Yes there's a funny looking thing there that you held up with holes in and a Morse taper and that tapping thing it doesn't fit you're lathe ,but I think it fits mine I'll send my address for you to send them to me much appreciated ,many thanks
Referring to the intro to the video- whoa, you're referring to THE snowstorm. I'm in Bridgeport/Stratford, CT. We were ground zero for that storm, no one could go anywhere for 2 or 3 days. Storm of a lifetime, it's great that you happened to catch that by way of this video.
You have a goldmine of tools and tooling and attachments, looks like you have a milling attachment to convert the lathe to do light milling, l have 6 vintage lathes I've restored with tons of equipment
The harbor freight machines don't have 1/10 capability of that little lathe but let's you learn on something replaceable for less than $5K per. That tapping tool on bench wood cost almost $2K by itself. Find some old school books on machining and you'll find appropriate training material., also Vince Gingery still prints and sell the books his dad wrote about making a workshop from aluminum. Great books wouldn't want to make one but process will flat teach you.. In the old days an Engineer needed his accurate lathe. B B the lathe used to be said the only tool that could make itself.
I wish we get snow storms like that here in Kansas City. And I drive a truck for a living. But I love the snow like that. Sure gives you time to get stuff done in your shop.
What a beautiful machine!!

That round switch is called a drum switch.
If your back plate and chuck set up ar screw on please don't use it in reverse
The tap heads go cw when you push down and reverse when you lift up
The spring device you held up for us to figure out reminds me of the recoil mechanism on a hammer Mill. What do you think?

It's a beauty for it's age mate. Definitely an industrial age.

Very nice Mustie, would love to get back into that type of metal work, haven't touched one since high school.
