With all your parts and pieces you could make a blow mold of that float. The plastic you could use are jugs that carry petroleum products. The handles are already close to the donut shape you need. The melt temperature is around 400 so just heat it till it's soft (not melted). Attach air hose, place in mold, close and blow.(about 5~10 seconds) It will take a couple times to get it right, but not hard to do. Use a mold release on mold and air hose. You can apply direct heat to the air hole and pinch closed. The pinched portion would work for the attachment of the float Trim off the squeeze out (flash) and it should work.
Since you are obviously outstanding building "rat rod/steam punk" bikes have you ever given thought to doing the same with a riding mower? With your talent i think you should look into it😀
Mustie, as always an enjoyable video. I had to laugh out loud when I heard you say, while working on the green tractor, "we'll let it chooch out there." You're being corrupted by exposure to AvE! I just sold a green tractor like the one you have there. I'd mounted a very large Craftsman snowblower (a freebie – 34 or 36 inch, I think it was) on the front, running off its own engine. It's had a bad drive wheel clutch when it arrived, so mounting it on the tractor was a happy solution. It cleared the long driveway at my old place just fine for several years. I've just moved to a new place that doesn't have a long drive. By another fortunate coincidence, a friend just bought an acreage with a long driveway out to the main road. So I passed the whole shebang on to him for the cost of the pieces I'd put in. It's still running just great. I originally put on mounts on the frame for a snow plow blade, and a small electric hoist to raise and lower one, but I never did put a plow on. The hoist was handy for lifting up the snowblower, though. It was just plain dumb luck that that big showblower showed up for free when it did. Sometimes things just come together. Greetings from northern Alberta, and "Keep yer dick in a vise!"
Mustie1, the advice you gave me concerning the PTO Clutch on my Husqvarna YTH2348 was right on. Runs like a champ now!……..but give me time, I'm sure I'll break it again.
Wish you didn’t live so far away from me, cause I’d buy some things off you! Shit I live in Ky., your in NH, that’s too far to go for anything ( and that’s a damn shame too)! Oh well! At least I get to watch you work on stuff, on here . Great stuff buddy!
Thank you,
Great jobb! 💖👍
