I picked up this machine at a yard sale, but it needs some work to get it to work, so lets go figure it out together how the maimin cutter works.

I appreciate the closing scenes, but not primarily for the beautiful scenery; it's also b/c people routinely miss the reason behind the beauty that's all around them:

"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen,
being understood through what has been made, so that people are without excuse" [Romans 1 v20].

We have a similar machine at my work (same thing just different brand) that still gets used fairly often to cut out patterns for various air filters for central vacuums and whatnot. Thing purs like a kitten when its on, very quiet. It may be old but it does its job very well, nice clean cuts.

Those machines are very dangerous. I worked at an upholstery shop when I was about 20. We had a few of them

Manufacturers ops manual states to use only their oil or a good 30w oil in the oil cups. It specifically says NOT to use sewing machine or other lightweight oil in the cups as the machine is not designed for lightweight oil . Bearings are sealed units.
