after being away for a while, we came back to reports of our boat turned into a submarine. lets see if we can rescue it and will it still Run?
Hello feinstein, sir we're on a rescue mission. We are going to rescue something yeah, that's not good for it before your fast fishing boat yeah it freezes in. Apparently, the batteries did not maintain the bilge pump and i don't know she's going to float we're going to go, find out, get my good side uh. It's it's a side, sir.
I'd like to tell you. This is the first time that i've been used as a counterweight. It's not, and he thought he was going to come here for a nice little boat ride. I believe this is exactly how it was advertised.
Well, i thought it would not be that much of an issue that would just hook another battery to get about 5-10 gallons out of it about 500.. The problem was that back left there there's a hole in the back of the boat, where the cables go through. That was under water, so we had to go get the boat to lean like this now we're above it now the boat's kind of floating, but that just let water right in plug the ghost pump in it's like you could pee better than what the amount of Water, it's taken out, so that's why it's sunk. I had three batteries hooked to it for maintaining.
We got some heavy rainstorm came through it's about two or three inches of rain, and this is the result. Oh well. Well, it's been about 15 minutes, the bilge pump. All of a sudden is starting to, as we watch do better and better.
I have no idea why that is doing that. I felt around, i didn't, feel any debris around it, clogging it and we're getting there. It's looking pretty good, so i had jumper cables going from the trolling motor batteries on the on the right. Over there.
The house battery is what the bilge pump was plugged into and had jumper cables going across. I went to go jump from one battery to the other. Nothing was turning on. The jumper cables failed in some fasteners no power going through the jumper cables.
I had a jumper pack, the jumper pack is hooked to the battery and right now that's what's doing its thing, you're getting it. You got lots of room, sir. I want to hit on the other side, so see how we're doing we got the trailer in it's actually looking pretty good we're down to the well. We let that run a little bit more and i think we're gon na go.
Try putting that battery in that location, and i doubt it we'll try starting the motor, if not we'll, just rode over to the boat ramp yeah. This is going somewhere. Our mission is to see if that jumper pack won't have enough first crack yeah right. Some reason.
I hate the feeling push to choke, doesn't even catch good luck like a regular robinson caruso. At least you got a comfy seat. Yeah nice runs are good. That bilge pump is cranking.
It's a very nice. It's a very nice picture, sir picturesque. If you will, what do they call what you're doing now, oh cox waning? I think you're doing just fine, that's why they make these nice little soft pads, though nope nice there's a problem. Well, yeah! That's um! Yeah! That's a good idea! This is a great idea. Sir, remember your kid: you have those balance beams. No, yes, careful, sir! There it is the motor's tilted in one direction, doing this with all the water in it. I don't think i don't well. I mean i'm not saying we couldn't, but it wasn't going to be that easy.
If i go in it'll float, maybe a little more level give her a shot, sir or we'll sink the truck. Whatever we got, ta spin, the motor the other way we'll get it up, we'll tilt the motor. The other direction we'll try, release the kraken or the schmidt. Oh yeah, look at the good stuff.
The mouse is gon na come out of there in the air poop it out. I don't know why it's so heavy seemed to settle fine. Sir. Oh, are you aware that you're not fully in or out of the vehicle look in the mirror, see how the boat is? I don't think that's gon na.
Do it good good to go, sir, like i already said good to go nice of the beaver to maintain a little dam to keep this side of it dry. So the other side doesn't have a beaver dam same depth. So the water was that high. But he's been maintaining pretty good, that's water's up about a foot foot and a half a little swampy area and again the heavy rain came through, did all that.
We're almost out came in here with a 20-foot, pontoon boat. That's six inches off the ground. We fished in this pond right here. You know it's deep.
If the boat floats itself back off the trailer going across yeah, only halfway up the wheels that tree's gon na be tight, the turns they get you straight away. The mirrors make it the rest of it makes it it's. Those sharp turns where the boat takes a different path than what you take. You got a favorite on one side.
There you got her, we won't only jump start it. It's going to be the only battery in the system, because there's no batteries in the boat, i think we just need these two leads should be the ones all right. Let's give her a crank suit. She does let's go go, let it run out of gas.
So thermostat open them so and she's out of gas make sure the so just so the carbs are uh empty. You don't see what fuel in the float balls over the course of the winter. Normally i would fog it. Fogging is an oil that you shoot in through the intake and kind of oils, the cylinders, but this boat's going to go inside the garage and get put away for the winter in uh heated garage - i don't suspect, it'll, be much of an issue obsess me.
Somebody needs a bath i'd say it was pretty much sunk, there's the water line right there across the gas cap and, of course, once it got up to here. All the water just went right in this hole where the cables go through stinking sump pump, not wanting to work. We're gon na go, give her a bath. The pressure washer try to knock off all the crap and clean her up for the for the winter anyway.
So well, i don't think we heard it much. It got uh everything wet on the inside, but unfortunately it's a boat and i think the boat components are kind of meant to uh. Take a little bit of water a little bit of water, not exactly underwater but uh. The engine didn't go under, you know it just got the out, drive all the parts that uh soak in the water and get wet the power head, which is where you see the engine cover up top and that was under. But it was all the way up to right here. You know i was gone for three weeks and right before i left, i hooked up three batteries to the uh bilge pump and i think the bilge pump either got contaminated or failed or whatever it was. I haven't looked into that yet and caused our issues, and even when i went to go jump it with the battery, it was not doing very much and as it kind of worked, a little bit seemed like it started to pick up a little bit of speed. Brian and i got her bailed out and got the water line above where the water was going in, which was where the cabling goes, so that you know it was up around here somewhere and although once he got up there, all the water just ran in this Hole and flooded the bolt out the boat out, so at that point it was done.
I had it as close to shore as i can get it so. The boat when i left it was actually tied up for the front of the boat, was touching the ground, but when it rained real heavy, the pond height came up which kind of screwed me too. I figured if you know worst case. It would still be sitting on the ground and would have some water on it.
I did not expect it to be underwater. Oh well. Let me learn right. So uh, it's gon na get tucked away out back and be warm for the winter time and next spring.
We'll deal with whatever we need to deal with, trying to come up with a better situation to uh. Have it at the pond. The problem is: there's no power out there, so it's not gon na hook a battery tender up to it. I could probably do a solar panel, but even with that, i don't know if it'll keep up with uh a bilge pump having to go uh pump the batteries down.
I had three batteries hooked to it too, and they all went dead so maybe also might be an option. Is they have those cradles? You put the boat on a cradle and then you you take the cradle and you crank. It upward gets the boat out of the water when you're not using it, so you can go find one of those and set one of those up over there and uh. That would have to be like a hand, crank one.
I guess we out of focus. I think we're okay, all right guys with that. I think we're gon na go sign off. I think uh, this boat, this uh video, is a little different from the norm that i do, but it's just stuff.
I have to get knocked out before winter comes so uh. I think i turn the camera on and we'll have a little fun rescuing. My mistake that i did alright guys until the next one i'll see you then later.
🙏⚓🚣👍👌 at least you didn't lose in the bomb the lake my father had one just like it it was new though it was just like it glad you didn't lose it my friend have a good day God bless🙏
I'd say ya need a boot lift and pull the plug or build a boot shed! now hearing you thought of the lift ya could do a Battery one!
Sad to see that you have chosen to leave the boat out in the weather. A good canvas boat cover, one that can breath!, a couple of bows to bridge gaps and 95% of your problems would go away! Pretty sure your bilge pumps were defeated by wind blown crap blown into the boat, plugging them up!
"All" the work you did to get it in useable shape….why would you ever leave that nice rig in the water like your old boat rig.
it makes you laugh. when you think of all the weed eaters bushhogs lawn mowers that this guy has. and his dock where his boat at looks like that. ..lol.lol.lol.I mean really not even twenty-five $30 for the neighborhood kid to clean that s*** up..lol .lol .lol .
all you need is a good cover with proper prop poles any canvas shop can do it mind you they are not cheap but your boat won't sink. Also I get a kick out of the stainless prop that would not last down here in Tennessee you want aluminum that way when you hit something the prop breaks not something in the drive train.
When a battery is under water do not forget that water is a electrical conductor. In other words electrical can pass through water even DC power.. battery still work underwater there just not as strong because there's a short going on. An the short is the water surrounding the ground and the hot terminals. And yes I know there's probably a better way to explain it .
Good to see it runs!! To much hassle to leave the boat on the trailer when not in use?? Also tilt the trailered boat enough so it can finish draining all the trap water over the winter!!
About 25 years ago my upstairs neighbors got a free boat that had filled with water, flipped over, half-sunk for about 18 months. I thought they were nuts… but they got things working good enough to take it out on the back bay that weekend. I was duly impressed.
One of those solar battery tenders comes in handy when leaving a boat in the water unattended. Living where you get 12+ FEET of rain a year we know some tricks to help prevent this.
Your trailer definitely needs a removable battery powered winch on it.
Made my morning to wake up and the first thing I see on my feed is a Herr Doktor Professor "we're goin' in" Mustie video.
I haven't even made the coffee yet but I'm wide awake.
OK so before I watch the video I'm going to guess that you're gonna snatch it with a rope pulling refloated or more cynically you're going to snatch your boat with a fishing pole, yeah boats are inconvenient. update So at least it wasn't in the middle of something now or in a deeper spot but I might be asking the bilge pump manufacture for some warranty and certainly beats having to re-float the entire hull
theire is a reason why they are selling boat covers yep boat covers! impeaching eain to get in the boat but if your boat sink with a boat cover maybe you have a bad problem! yep problem are always bad!!!
